Pali hiring experienced analysts

Pali International, the hedge fund-focused brokerage firm, is on the lookout for research analysts.

The US-based company has hired Nick Spearing, previously head of equities at Williams de Broë, to help develop its research department and sales capabilities.

Spearing told eFinancialCareers he plans to recruit around eight analysts by the end of the year, bringing the total in London to ten. He said the new recruits will be seasoned professionals with an established reputation in their sector.

Equity analysts will be drawn to Pali by the opportunity to work on original research, predicted Spearing. "We will avoid producing maintenance research and focus on genuinely value adding pieces," he said. "I believe this will attract good analysts who enjoy working in an environment where they can be responsible for setting their own agendas."
