Morgan Stanley faces fresh discrimination claims

Morgan Stanley is facing fresh claims that it discriminated against women.

A lawsuit filed in Washington DC claims that the bank's brokerage executives assigned the most lucrative accounts and leads to its male brokers, and discriminated against women in its training, mentoring and partnership assignments, as well as in allocating promotions, the Telegraph reports.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of six named plaintiffs and all female financial advisers who have worked at the brokerage since August 2003, and stems from the Women on Wall Street project.

Less than 2 years ago Morgan Stanley paid 30m to settle similar charges that it denied pay rises and promotions to women, paid them less than men, excluded them from company events and subjected them to lewd behaviour.
