JPMorgan Chase, UBS Name Leaders For Software, Tech Groups
UBS promoted John Joliet to head up the bank's software investment banking activities in the U.S., while JPMorgan Chase named Ron Pillar head of East Coast technology investment banking.
Pillar takes on his new role in addition to continuing as head of the J.P. Morgan Chase's communications equipment practice. In a memo, Jennifer Nason, head of technology, media and telecommunications, said the East Coast tech practice will include communications equipment, IT, software, transaction payments and large-cap technology clients on the east coast. The New York Times's Dealbook obtained a copy of the memo.
At UBS, Joliet recently led the U.S. technology services group with Mike Rintoul, who will continue as the group's sole global head. Joliet has been with UBS since 2001, and has worked in its leveraged finance and financial sponsors groups. He will be based in Los Angeles, according to Financial News.
