Dominion Bond Rating Service hiring in London

Canadian ratings agency, Dominion Bond Rating Service, is set to launch a new structured finance team in London.

The Financial Times reports that the team will be headed up by Apea Koranteng, former global head of structured capital markets at ABN Amro.

DBRS already has a banking team based in London, led by Sam Theodore, ex-head of Moody's in Europe.

Michael Mackenzie, senior vice president of the structured finance group, told eFinancialCareers, "Apea and I will be making some hires. We want to build up a full capability. We will be looking to hire very senior, quality professionals who have done this before."

DBRS' structured finance ambitions could raise the temperature of an already overheated market. Moody's, Standard & Poors, and Fitch, are understood to be looking to add to their structured finance teams, as are several banks.

Mackenzie said further announcements are expected in the next couple of weeks.
