Credit Suisse eyes more expansion
Credit Suisse's sale of insurance arm Winterthur to AXA will free up funds for expansion in private banking, fund management and investment banking.
Is the investment bank about to embark on another hiring spree?
Oswald Grubel, chief executive of Credit Suisse, said the bank would expand private banking in North America, fund management in emerging markets, and would beef up investment banking, particularly in fast-growing developing regions, the Financial Times reports.
A spokesman at Credit Suisse in Zurich said private banking would also be expanding in growth markets such as eastern Europe, Asia and South America. The bank would not comment on subsequent hiring needs.
