Corporate financiers fear for jobs at Williams de Broë

In another instalment of the Williams de Broë saga, it seems corporate financiers at the newly acquired company may be the next to be shown the door.

Corporate finance staff at Williams de Broë are waiting to find out whether their jobs are secure, according to one headhunter. "They've been told they'll find out in the next few weeks and until then are all a bit jumpy," she says. "In the meantime, there's a lot of paranoia - they think we're phoning from Evolution to scope out their keenness to move."

Investment bank Evolution bought Williams de Broë earlier this month, fuelling speculation about job cuts at the broker. Most are expected to be in the back office.

A spokesperson for Williams de Broë declined to comment.
