European Banks Pressed For Junior M&A Staff
European investment banks are seeking junior M&A staff ahead of an expected boom in mergers and acquisitions.
A new survey suggests almost every bank is looking to hire junior M&A employees in the next few months. The inaugural M&A Monitor by the Financial News and IntraLinks, a provider of secure online workspaces to the financial services industry, found that 96 percent of banks plan to hire junior employees for their M&A departments.
Nearly 25 percent were planning senior-level hires, as well. German groups were hiring most aggressively.
Junior staff are used to execute M&A deals, including assembling the financial and legal documents needed for their completion. European recruiters especially like accountants who've earned an ACA qualification from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales.
