Spot the small cap vacancies

There are signs of activity in the world of small cap recruitment.

News reports suggest that Artemis Investment Management, a small City of London investment manager, is planning to recruit new staff to help it invest in smaller companies.

Reuters reports that the company is planning to recruit small cap specialists in response to a rise in assets under management.

However, Nick Wells, Artemis' product and communications director, told eFinancialCareers.com that the new hires are unlikely anytime soon. Wells said Artemis currently employs 86 staff, of whom just 14 are fund managers. "At some stage we will need to have additional small cap resource," he said. "But we will probably hire experienced people through our own network, and certainly won't be going out and advertising for them."

Does that mean any speculative CVs received by Artemis will be swiftly shredded?
