FSA to hire IT staff ahead of outsourcing

Recruiters say the Financial Services Authority (FSA) is looking to hire a host of new IT staff ahead of an outsourcing programme.

According to Spring Technology, the recruiter which has won the mandate, the regulator aims to add 15 new technology staff across everything from programming, to project management and security.

"There's a wide spectrum of roles," says Spring consultant Danielle Tasker. "We're looking for project managers, programme managers, a head of architecture and a head of IT security."

She says the new roles are in advance of a new IT outsourcing programme at the FSA, which remains in the early stages. "The roles we are recruiting for are to manage that programme," she says.

Tasker says successful candidates will have experience of managing previous outsourcing programmes, plus 7-10 years' experience. Candidates are expected to come from investment banks and consultancies, although financial services experience isn't necessary in non-client focused positions. The FSA has budgeted maximum pay of 90k per role.
