BNP Paribas Bolsters Capital Markets Coverage

BNP Paribas has strengthened its U.S. capital markets businesses with four appointments spanning its equity derivatives and fixed income divisions.

David Abner joins as a managing director and head of exchange traded fund trading.

He will be based in New York and report to Pascal Leyo, head of equities and derivatives trading in the Americas.

Abner will work with the institutional sales force and oversee the exchange traded fund sales and trading business. He previously worked at Bear Stearns for 13 years as head of exchange traded fund trading.

David Pawlowski joins the New York office as a director in the whole loan trading group within fixed income. He will report to Gregory Lattanzio, head of whole loan trading.

Pawlowski joins from Milwaukee-based Mortgage Data Management, where he was managing director of due diligence.

Francisco Hervella has been appointed director and senior Latin American structured product marketer. He will work closely with corporate, private, and institutional clients. Hervella will report to Nick Kello, head of equity and derivative sales for financial institutions in the Americas. He previously worked at UBS as a vice president and international financial advisor.

Jacqueline Hayot joins the bank as director and head of strategic marketing for the Americas.

Hayot was most recently at Edelman Financial, the financial public relations and communications company.

She will work to educate the U.S. market about BNP Paribas' equities and derivatives division and to help the sales force develop customer partnerships, according to a spokeswoman for the bank. Hayot will report to Todd Steinberg, deputy head of equities and derivatives in the Americas.
