Prêtet joins from French investment bank Calyon, where he was also a senior economist.

Jean Danjou has joined as co-head of the software and IT services team, from Credit Suisse First Boston.

Eloise Veillet has been appointed as a senior food retail analyst, from a similar role at Crédit Agricole Asset Management, the investment management arm of the French bank.

Stephane Foucaud has become an oil analyst covering UK stocks including BP and Shell.

He joins from Schlumberger, the oilfield services provider, where he spent the past two years as an account manager.

All will report to Patrick Legland, head of European equity research.
