DrKW: Should they stay or should they go? Let us know.

Views are mixed as to whether an exodus is likely, but new boss Stefan Jentzsch is said to be talking up the opportunities the bank offers just in case.

One seasoned M&A headhunter predicts a wave of senior exits: "The whole promise of bringing people into DrKW was participating in the bank's independence and earning equity in the bank. I'd be very surprised if Stefan Jentzsch [the new head of corporate and investment banking] is able to persuade many to stay."

But Neil McKay, a corporate finance specialist at search firm Sheffield Haworth, says DrKW's senior M&A bankers will stay put: "Pisker was seen as a markets guy, whereas Jentzsch is an investment banker. They will be happy to have one of their own kind at the top."

McKay says junior to mid-ranking investment bankers are likely to beat a hasty retreat due to Dresdner's record of paying poor mid-level bonuses, and that the loss of Pisker will be a blow to the markets division - "People in markets are going to be worried."

Should DrKW's bankers be testing the recruitment waters? Let us know what you think.
