Job Wrap: BAS Hires for Equities

Banc of America Securities (BAS) showed there's still demand for specialist equities traders with two hires from Credit Suisse First Boston for its global equities trading team. Andy Busso joined as a managing director and head of financial sector trading. Robert Gagliardi joined as a principal and senior trading for NYSE-listed technology stocks.

In another equities move, Morgan Keegan & Co., the securities brokerage arm of Regions Financial Corporation, hired three equities analysts for its New York office. Bob Patten joins from UBS Equity Research as a banking analyst and managing director. Evan Momios joined from Standard & Poor's Equity Research Services as an associate analyst. Joon Koh joins from Smith Barney as a vice president.

Fixed income and commodities: Commerce Capital Markets hires Loukas

Commerce Capital Markets hired Ronald Loukas from FleetBoston Financial as managing director of fixed income. Loukas will manage the fixed- income sales and trading, derivative group, arbitrage group and investment banking activities.

Jefferies & Company hired Edwin P. Dean from First Albany as a managing director and senior research analyst covering high grade corporate credits in its bonds direct division. Dean will be based in Boston.

BNP Paribas said it is transferring Jean-Marc Bonnefous, its global head of commodity derivatives, from New York to London.

Corporate and investment banking: Wells Fargo promotes Campbell

Wells Fargo appointed Jon Campbell, a 28-year veteran of the company and current president of its Great Lakes region, as head of mergers and acquisitions throughout its 23-state territory. James Prunty, current head of the northwest region, will succeed Campbell as regional president.

Praesidian Capital Investors, a provider of mezzanine capital to middle market companies, hired Christopher T. Daniel from Windjammer Capital as managing director in charge of its Los Angeles office.

Asset Management: HSBC hires Pflug

HSBC Investments hired Bruce Pflug from Pacific Investment Management Corporation as a managing director and head of institutional business development, based in New York.

Northern Trust hired Hal T. Schornstein from U.S Trust as portfolio manager and senior investment officer for its Northern California region, based in its San Francisco office.

ING Investment Management Americas hired James Klase from Merrill Lynch Investment Managers as executive vice president and head of distribution.

Janus Institutional Asset Management hired Daniel Charles from Bank of America as vice president of institutional sales, based in St. Louis, Missouri.

Robeco Investment Management, the institutional asset management arm of global fund manager Robeco Group, hired Alkesh Gianchandani from RiskMetrics Group as a managing director and member its sales team.
