US jobs roundup: CSFB suffers private equity walkout
CSFB this week lost four partners from its senior private equity group in the US. David Wittels, Andy Rush, and Ari Benacerraf, who worked for a private equity fund in the DLJ Merchant Banking division, and Mike Ranger, of the global energy partners fund, all left abruptly this week. They were immediately replaced by David Durkin, David Burgstahler, OhSang Kwon and Kamil Salame.
In other moves in the past week, New York-based hedge fund manager Optima hired Thomas Gimbel from Credit Suisse Asset Management (CSAM), to work on product development. At CSAM he developed US and offshore fund-of-funds and represented CSAM on the CSFB asset allocation committee.
Vega Asset Management hired David Mullins Jr. to act as its chief economist in addition to his current duties at Azimuth Trust. He is currently managing director and chief economist at Azimuth and a full time member of Azimuth's investment committee.
KPMG's chief financial officer, Richard Rosenthal, resigned. He will be replaced on an interim basis by deputy chairman Joseph Mauriello with a permanent replacement to be announced by September 1.
Bank of America hired Citibank's global head of currency research, Robert Sinche. Sinche will head up global foreign exchange research and strategy in New York.
JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management appointed Eve Guernsey chief executive officer of the Americas, a newly created position which also oversees the Bank One Investment Management group. Ms. Guernsey was previously the chief executive of institutional business in the Americas and has been with the firm for 27 years.
