US jobs roundup: CSFB appoints top management

In the wake of a string of top management departures, including that of chief financial officer Barbara Yastine last week, new CSFB chief executive Brady Dougan announced an executive team.

Brian Finn will be president of CSFB, focusing on the investment banking and alternative capital divisions. Neil Moskowitz will replace Yastine as chief financial officer. Gary Lynch will continue as vice chairman and global general counsel while Paul Calello will stay on as chief executive of the Asia-Pacific region.

Dougan has not yet named a replacement for his own previous position, as chief executive in charge of Europe.

Other appointments in the past week include Barclays Capital hiring two more staff for its mortgage-backed securities (MBS) team, continuing its expansion. Chris Leslie joins as a managing director after 14 years in MBS sales at Citigroup. Steve Cozine has been hired as a director and senior mortgage trader and was also previously at Citigroup, where he traded collateralized mortgage obligations (CMOs) and was head of non-agency CMOs.

Barclays Capital also hired Amy Nauiokas as a director and head of e-commerce. Nauiokas was previously with Cantor Fitzgerald where she was senior managing director for eSpeed.

Harris Nesbitt, the US investment banking division of BMO Financial Group, hired Raymond Deacon as a senior research analyst covering the exploration and production sector. Dean joins from First Albany where he was a principal covering the same areas.

Piper Jaffray hired Harvey Zabinsky as director of fixed income strategy in investment research. Zabinsky will be based in Chicago and was previously with Banc One where he was managing director of the fixed income strategy group.
