US jobs roundup: Banc of America expands in credit derivatives and equities
Banc of America has expanded in credit derivatives and equities, hiring Peter Nguyen and Ross Nussbaum to its New York offices.
Nguyen will lead a specialist sales effort focused on coverage of hedge funds and other frequent users of credit derivatives products. He joins from Credit Suisse First Boston where he was a director in credit derivatives. Nussbaum joins as a principal and senior equity research analyst and was previously with Citigroup Smith Barney.
Other moves in the past week include Credit Suisse Asset Management luring Michael Gray to take up a newly-created position as managing director and global head of credit research. He was previously managing director and head of US credit research for Deutsche Asset Management's specialty fixed-income group. At CSAM he will report to Dennis Schaney, global head of fixed income.
Deutsche Bank Securities hired Tim Fox, previously of SG Cowen & Co. Based in Boston, Fox will take responsibility for equity research coverage of the technology software sector.
NASDAQ has appointed Stuart Patterson to a new position as senior managing director for the Asia Pacific region. Patterson will report to Janet Lewis, vice president in the corporate client group. He was previously vice president and global head of business development for Fleet Specialist Inc.
AEG Partners appointed two senior directors this week to its Chicago office. Jon Otterberg joins from FTI Consulting where he was a director. Kevin Angeles was promoted from inside the firm.
Charles Hughes joins Easton Capital Investment Group, a new York-based venture capital firm, as a managing director. Hughes was previously a senior partner at Torys LLP, an international business law firm, where he specialised in advising venture investors.
Jeffrey Lacker has been appointed president of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, from August 1. He succeeds J. Alfred Broaddus, who in November announced his intention to retire. Lacker is currently senior vice president and director of research at the bank.
