Which divisions of the bank hire graduates?

Corporate & Investment Banking, Portfolio Management, Debt Sales, Trading & Research, Debt Capital Markets, Debt Technology and Operations.

These are split across all the divisions but in 2004 a large percentage is going into Corporate & Investment Banking.

How much are graduates paid during training? Do you provide subsidized housing and other perks?

During training graduates are paid as normal. Training takes place in both London and New York, during which graduates will be accommodated in a hotel.

The first week is in London, followed by 4 weeks in New York and with an additional two weeks in London on their return

How long does it take someone to complete your training programme?

After the initial training period of a few weeks, there will be ongoing training for all Analysts and Associates.

Do you guarantee a job upon completion of the programme? Alternatively, are graduates hired on a renewable contract, eg for two years?

Graduates are hired as permanent employees of the Bank.

What kind of specialist training is offered for each division, e.g. trading, corporate finance, and so on?

All graduates will start by training together - after two weeks in New York they split into their specific divisions for more specialized, in depth training.

How many hours a day does training last? Will trainees be expected to work or study after hours at home?

Training typically runs from 9 - 5, with study to be done afterwards

Can trainees move between departments?

Yes

What if a graduate trainee wants to do an MBA or MSc in a few years' time? Might the bank provide sponsorship?

Bank of America will help out by helping with connections to admissions offices at business schools and support of graduates sitting their GMAT
