Citigroup is MBAs' favourite bank
MBA students in the US would rather work for Citigroup than any other bank, with Goldman Sachs a close second.
This is the finding of a survey by Universum, a graduate research company, which asked over 4,000 US business school students which companies they would prefer to work for.
A total of 9.86% put Citigroup among their top five employers, while 9.79% listed Goldman. The only company that did better was McKinsey, the consultancy, which ranked in the top five for nearly 15% of respondents. IBM was in fourth place and Johnson & Johnson, the pharmaceutical firm, was fifth.
Last year US MBA students registered Goldman as their favourite investment banking employer.
Other banks favoured this year include Bank of America in 19th place, Morgan Stanley (25th), JP Morgan Chase (30th), Merrill Lynch (35th), UBS (40th) and Deutsche Bank (45th).
