Case study: Audrey Hintzy - vice-president European equity sales
I began at JP Morgan doing a four-month
internship with the foreign exchange sales
team in Paris.
Afterwards, when I joined the
firm, I completed a six-month training period
in New York, having joined the fixed income
and credit sales team in Paris. From there, I
specialised in emerging market debt for two
years in London, covering mainly French institutions.
In January, 2001 I moved to the
equity world and European equity sales, first
in London and now in Paris.
My role involves selling equity products to
French institutional investors, mostly to large
asset managers. I need good communication
skills, financial knowledge, self-confidence,
and the ability to cope with stress.
Banking is a great career for internationallyminded
people who have team spirit,
perseverance, and are well-motivated.
During banking interviews, bear in mind that the
interviewer is looking for a candidates whose
personality will fit with the firm's culture; don't
forget, however, that you should ask yourself
whether you would enjoy working with them.'
