Gow hires Goldman Sachs recruitment executive

Schwartz was most recently global head of recruiting for investment banking at Goldman Sachs in New York.

He spent most of his 11 years at Goldman Sachs in London in the fixed income division, where he started as a bond trader and was later chief administrative officer for the division in Europe. He was head of human resources for the investment banking division in London before moving to New York last year.

In 1995, Schwartz temporarily left Goldman Sachs and in the following year founded his own executive search firm, DNS Consultancy, specialising in private equity. He also worked for global search firm Norman Broadbent, rejoining Goldman Sachs in 2000.

Gow & Partners was set up in late 2002. Roddy Gow, its chairman, says he remains committed to a global presence despite weakness in the job market.

Gow & Partners has a presence in Warsaw and Hong Kong. It also aims to take advantage of demand for boardroom searches, amid concerns about corporate governance in the UK and the US.
