Enskilda executive to join EQT
Andersen, based in Copenhagen, has worked for Enskilda for six years and for the past three as a global head, including three months as interim chief executive before the appointment of Tom Vidar Rygh last December. He will join EQT as a partner heading its Danish office.
He has seen Enskilda through the peak of the boom and the downsizing and headcount cuts of the economic downturn. The bank has cut 100 staff since December 2001, closing its San Francisco and Paris offices.
Anderson's resignation follows the departure of Ian Macfarlane, one of Enskilda's most senior corporate financiers, last September. He was responsible for corporate finance outside the Nordic region and left because of the lack of mergers and acquisitions activity.
Andersen will not leave until the end of October and no replacement has yet been appointed. Enskilda's chief executive will assume Andersen's responsibilities in the interim.
