WoodHamill hires search consultants

Louise Binns, a former director in corporate broking at Deutsche Bank, has joined WoodHamill to work on corporate finance and equity capital markets search. Binns left Deutsche a year ago and has spent much of her time since then diving in Honduras.

Asad Khan has joined as head of debt capital markets. Khan came from rival search boutique Rice and Dore Associates, where he focused on European credit trading and derivatives marketing.

Ian Menzies has joined as head of private equity recruitment. Menzies ran his own search firm before coming to WoodHamill.

Rachael Wood, managing director of WoodHamill, said the new hires reflected areas of opportunity in the job market. 'Debt capital markets and fixed income have remained buoyant, and there is continuing potential in credit derivatives throughout the year'. Private equity hiring was also reasonably strong.

There is less activity in corporate finance and equity markets, but Wood said Binns had a strong network which would prove useful in the long term.

WoodHamill is the financial services search arm of Imprint plc, a broad based search and selection company covering everything from sales and marketing to technical, legal and financial services positions. WoodHamill employs about 15 consultants in its London office.

Imprint, which was established two years ago, made a pre-tax loss of 1.2m in 2002. It said it expected to make a profit in 2003, through gaining market share.

The firm shed some staff at the end of last year, but said it would continue tio hire others this year.
