Hanover capital markets expert rejoins AMGM

Hammill-Stewart will focus on debt capital markets and gilt edge market-making at AMGM.

He joined Hanover in March last year as a manager and head of fixed income, derivatives and debt capital markets.

Simon Keslake, who joined Hanover from recruiter VWJ at the same time as Hammill-Stewart, has also since left Hanover where he was a senior fixed income and derivatives consultant.

Max Roberts, associate director of financial markets at Hanover, says the firm has no immediate plans to replace Hammill-Stewart or other departures on the fixed income side.

Roberts says Hanover will instead concentrate on building upon its strengths on the equity side, especially equity derivatives.

AMGM has a track record of bringing back former staff. The last notable consultant to return was Simon Vaughan-Edwards, who returned last year just weeks after joining Stephens Associates.

During Hammill-Stewart's first stint at AMGM he spent four years as a principal on the fixed income desk following a 15-year career as a fixed income money broker.
