Office emails are the perfect holiday companion

No less than 11% confessed to checking their work emails every day while on vacation.

On top of an urge to stay in contact with colleagues, the survey by Enterprise Wireless Technology revealed a tendency to bring extra luggage. A total of 52% of respondents packed a laptop; another 54% took a PDA (personal digital assistant) or other handheld device; over 92% brought a mobile phone.

Not surprisingly, all this created difficulties with spouses and other holiday companions. Half of those surveyed admitted to '"tension" as a result.

But 40% of respondents said that accessing emails on holiday gave them peace of mind and made them feel more relaxed when they went back to work. Only 20% said they disliked the idea.

More than 20% expected to do even more work during future vacations.
