Torus hires former Jonathan Wren chief executive

McCarthy will spearhead the expansion of a number of services, including the recruitment and retention of permanent staff and interim management across the financial and professional services industries, the company said.

At Jonathan Wren, McCarthy oversaw market penetration in new sectors of City recruitment business. He was also previously director of what was known as NB Selection, the advertised recruitment arm of BNB Resources, which owns Norman Broadbent.

Torus, which made two acquisitions recently in the training and leadership consultancy sectors, is aiming to raise turnover to 30m with 6m in profits by 2007. Its CEO, Freddie de Lisle, was a partner in the early 1990s at search firm De Lisle Jessup Scott, which specialised in M&A in the insurance sector.
