Headhunter Shen joins The Options Group
Shen left AT Kearney at the end of January after the US recruitment newswire, Hunt-Scanlon, ran a story alleging that both he and the firm had provided misleading information about his professional and educational background.
The Options Group is a boutique specialising in financial services, information services and telecommunications. Its founders, Michael Karp and Bob Reid, head the financial services practice whose focus includes investment banking/corporate finance, the capital markets, project and structured finance, asset management and venture capital/private equity.
With 60 consultants, The Options Group operates out of London, New York, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Tokyo and New Delhi. It has plans to expand into Hong Kong and Sao Paulo.
Shen previously worked with its London managing partner, Paul DeLucia, when they were both at financial services search firm, the Whitney Group.
Shen said: "I believe that the search industry is evidencing the most significant 'sea change' that I have seen in close to 20 years. As we emerge from this global downturn, I believe that there will be a 're-boutiquing' of financial services search."
Since his departure his colleague at AT Kearney Executive Search in London, Heather Spence, has also left to set up her own financial services search firm.
