Sheffield Haworth expands in London and Frankfurt
Simon Worthington has joined as a senior consultant in London, from the rival recruiter Hogarth Davies Lloyd. He will work in the equity derivatives team. Worthington began his career at GNI, the broker, where he worked for five years as an equity derivatives salesman.
The firm has also recruited Imke Rodriguez as a divisional director in Frankfurt, to develop its equities, structured finance and corporate finance sector. She joins from Langfeld & Ashley, a recruitment firm in Frankfurt, and has experience in recruitment for German, French, Dutch and Swiss banks. Earlier she worked for Korn/Ferry in Frankfurt and London.
The appointments follow several others made by Sheffield Haworth last year. Tim Sheffield, the chief executive, said he expected staff numbers to increase again this year, perhaps by 20%, across the firm's London, Frankfurt and Paris offices.
"We view this as an excellent time to bring on board first rate people," he said, as many rivals had been shedding staff because of the economic downturn.
Sheffield said the firm benefited from having lower overheads than some of its larger rivals, including less management. He added that last year the firm's revenues dipped by six per cent compared to 2000 - a better result than many other recruitment firms.
Sheffield Haworth has also made some promotions. Mike Hartwell and Michelle Henry, both divisional directors, join the management board as directors of the firm. Raj
