CSFB may ask star bankers to take pay cut
Credit Suisse First Boston's star technology banking chief will be among the CSFB executives with lofty guaranteed pay contracts who are being asked to renegotiate them for less money, according to people familiar with the matter.
The move is part of an unusual plan by John Mack, the firm's newly anointed chief executive officer, to slash costs at the big Credit Suisse Group securities unit.
Quattrone once may have earned as much as $100m (€114m) by the estimates of former CSFB employees with knowledge of the pay packet.
