Wharton and INSEAD form business school alliance
They will jointly provide new courses for postgraduates and executives. The first on offer will be 'Global Financial Management' . They will also provide an 'MBA Update,' designed for those who already have MBAs.
The courses will take place at Wharton's campuses at Philadelphia and San Francisco, and at INSEAD's at Fontainebleau, near Paris, and Singapore.
In addition, MBA students from both schools will be able to enroll for coursework at any of the four campuses.
Patrick Harker, the dean of Wharton, said: "We are creating a model for delivering business education in a global environment that is changing profoundly, with technology-enabled learning as a critical component."
Wharton, part of the University of Pennsylvania, was ranked top among US schools for finance by Business Week magazine in 2000.
It was also ranked number one in the world for its MBA courses by the Financial Times in 2001. INSEAD was ranked number one in Europe by the FT survey.
Meanwhile the Rotterdam School of Management (RSM) in the Netherlands, has launched a new Financial Management MA, set to start in September.
The course is aimed at young professionals seeking international financial careers in corporate finance markets, decision making and risk analysis.
