Something fishy at Devonshire
The firm, which handles investment banking assignments, said the name change follows a management buy-in late last year. "After much soul searching," explained a press release, the managers "have chosen a new identity that reflects perfectly the way they feel about how they are now positioned in the market."
"Manta Rays," continued the blurb, "are one of the most graceful, powerful and successful species on the planet. They have the flexibility to manoeuvre gracefully through the water and they are known to be one of the most gentle creatures in the sea."
Areas to which the firm turns its gentle attentions include the credit markets, equity markets and investment management. The firm is based in London's financial district and is part of Devonshire Group plc, the specialist recruitment services group.
