Nomura's former Hong Kong origination chief turns headhunter

Thoms joins from the financial industry, having most recently been head of origination and syndicate trading at Nomura in Hong Kong. Prior to that he was at Sumitomo Finance, where he headed an asset trading and sales team of twelve. The team moved to Sumitomo from ING in 1995.

OPSIS Executive Search, which specialises in fixed income, derivatives and asset management, has a team of six headhunters.

Thoms reports to the six-year-old firm's joint managing directors Steve Crow and Satish Thanki.
