Korn/Ferry hires new chief executive for online service
Semprevivo was previously president and chief executive of Getsmart.com, a web-based financial services marketplace for loan and credit products from more than 130 companies.
Semprevivo's appointment fills the vacancy left by the departure of Man Jit Singh in May, after which Peter Dunn assumed the role temporarily. Dunn is now chairman of the board of Futurestep and vice-chairman of Korn/Ferry International. Semprevivo will report to him.
"Stephen brings a wealth of experience in the e-business arena, proven executive abilities and a strong background that will allow us to continue to build our highly successful Futurestep business," said Dunn.
Korn/Ferry continues to pour money into the development of Futurestep, which has headquarters in Los Angeles and has expanded its European operation. In July, Ken Brotherston became president of Futurestep in Europe, and Simon Wiggins was taken on to fill Brotherston's previous role as managing director.
In the first quarter of 2000, Korn/Ferry declared record revenues of $173.6m (€198.9m), a rise of over 65% on the same quarter in the previous year. Futurestep itself exceeded $21m in quarterly revenue, but showed an operating loss.
According to Korn/Ferry, Futurestep's losses stem mainly from compensation and benefits expenses as well as continued spending on advertising.
