Jeffrey Deck has been appointed as president and chief executive officer of Barclays Capital in Japan. Deck, who succeeds Pat Lin, joined Barclays in 1997 and was previously managing director and chief administration officer for Asia Pacific. Paul Myners is resuming his role as executive chairman of Gartmore. Myners, also an executive director of NatWest, has been non-executive chairman of Gartmore since taking responsibility for NatWest's wealth management businesses in 1997. Prior to this Myners held executive roles within Gartmore since joining the company in 1985.
