Our client is seeking a Director of Investment Accounting to lead investment accounting and reporting operations within a growing insurance organization. This individual will play a key role in financial reporting, investment close activities, process improvement initiatives, and team leadership, while partnering closely with investment, treasury, and finance stakeholders across the business.

What You'll Do:
- Lead the preparation and review of the investment-related sections of quarterly financial statements under both US GAAP and Statutory accounting, as well as regulatory and compliance reporting.
- Oversee the monthly investment accounting close process, ensuring deadlines are met and reporting deliverables are completed accurately.
- Review investment accounting reconciliations, controls, and reporting processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Identify and implement process improvements that enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and scalability in a growing organization.
- Partner closely with teams across Investments, Treasury, Financial Reporting, and external vendors to resolve issues and optimize processes.
- Mentor, develop, and manage accounting team members while fostering a collaborative environment.
What We're Looking For:
- 10+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience, including leadership experience within the insurance industry or a public accounting firm serving insurance clients.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage projects and lead cross-functional initiatives.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong overall technical proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with investment accounting and reporting, including asset classes such as fixed income securities, derivatives, alternative investments, or statutory investments.
- Experience working with investment accounting systems and reporting platforms.
- Deep understanding of insurance investment accounting and regulatory reporting requirements.
