About the team
Trade Services Section is responsible for processing, checking, approval and monitoring the day to day operations of trade related transactions as well as the related risks control.
Teams mainly handle daily operations of trade, (i.e. LC opening, LC Advising, Confirmation, Transfer LC, Import & Export documents checking, financing, Collection, settlement, irregular item investigation & periodic reporting etc.)
Role requirements
- Assume the processing, checking, approval & controlling functions of trade operations (new booking & settlement of conventional trade transactions & structured trade products etc.).
- Perform initial / final check of import & export trade documents.
- Handle compliance judgment on trade transactions.
- Validate the workings carried out by the subordinates on import & export trade transactions & booking entries.
- Deal with internal / external customers for matters related to import & export trade transactions.
- Conduct visits to customers with marketing staff, where necessary.
- Assist in accomplishing the Section’s overall duties & responsibilities.
- Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as delegated.
Deliverables:
- Recommend actions in relation to change of laws, uniform customs & practices and government regulations.
- Report to superiors of any operational risks, inefficient operations and propose concrete solutions.
- Make regular review on workflows, IOP & HOP and suggest necessary revisions.
- Craft new ideas on improving operational accuracy and efficiency.
Essential Functions
- This role serves the processing, checking, approval & monitoring functions to the day to day operations of trade related transactions as well as the related risks control. Assist Team Head/Section Head in the Team's administration work.
- Make decision on matters & discrepancies in relation to import / export trades and report to superiors, where necessary.
- Provide training in relation to trade transactions handling skills to others.
- Monitor and supervise the subordinates in the daily operations of the Section.

- The individual respects for and commits to high standards of business conduct and integrity in conducting operations, reporting and etc.
Work experience, education and skills
- University degree holder;
- More than 8 years of experience in trade services operations;
- Sound Import and Export knowledge;
- Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) holder;
- Familiar with ICC rules (UCP600, ISBP, URR725 and URC522 etc.);
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua an advantage; and
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Suitable candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Vice President.
