RBC Capital Markets just made a big M&A hire
RBC is bolstering its M&A team in Europe
Last time we looked, Royal Bank of Canada's London operation was leaking staff ahead of its fourth quarter results announcement. Now, it's hired someone to compensate.
Mike Kaladeen, a former director at Canaccord Genuity, has just joined RBC as a director in the financial institutions group (FIG). Prior to his year at Canaccord Genuity, he spent eight years at Morgan Stanley, latterly as a VP, and three years at PWC.
RBC has hired several senior bankers in Europe this year. In April it added Nick Taylor from Deutsche to cover natural resources, Rose Bailey from Morgan Stanley to cover retail, and Roland Nicklays from HSBC to cover communications, media and entertainment. Canaccord, by comparison, has been cutting jobs.
