If you're interests lie somewhere between alternative financing strategies and the life sciences, we have a job for you. In fact, it's our Hot Job of the Week, posted by Michael Page.
A speciality finance company serving capital needs of venture capital and private equity-backed firms is looking for a Managing Director and Group Head of Life Sciences. This is a relatively senior position so make sure you have the experience necessary to carry out this role.
As a Managing Director and Group Head of Life Sciences, you will be responsible for the day to day oversight of the entire Technology origination team, as well as the special situation/lower middle market group. You'll even get to manage 18 employees, with planned headcount on the increase to 26, which means you'll get to hire eight more.
Your day to day job will be overseeing and maintaining the life science team's focus, such as achieving goals, headcount and ultimately be accountable for group performance. If you're senior enough, you'll even get to sit on the company's Investment Committee.
Among the things that make this job hot, are the skills the firm wants you to have. They include:
- A real hustler mentality
- Able to make transactions
- M&A background within an Investment Bank or something similar
- Understand the urgency of making quarterly performance results
- Knowledge of credit structuring and the life science sector.
And perhaps the hottest requirement of all: You'll have the gravitas to act as an ambassador in constantly managing venture capital relationships.
