Peter J. Solomon Launches Healthcare Practice
Advisory boutique Peter J. Solomon Co. launched a global pharmaceutical and life sciences practice by hiring Frederick Frank as vice chairman and Mary C. Tanner as managing director, respectively.
Frank was vice chairman of Barclays Capital. He spent most of his career at Lehman Brothers, where he and Tanner built a dedicated global healthcare banking franchise in the 1970s and 1980s. Frank holds an undergraduate degree from Yale, an MBA from Stanford and a CFA charter.
His latest deal, advising CV Therapeutics in its $1.4 billion sale to Gilead Sciences, was announced March 12.
Tanner was head of Life Sciences Partners, a company she founded to specialize in healthcare investment and strategic advisory work. Previously, she was a senior managing director at both Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns. She received her undergraduate degree from Harvard.
