Job Wrap: Bank of America poaches from Goldman
Bank of America poached two Goldman Sachs veterans last week. Alastair Borthwick, a managing director in Goldman's investment banking group, joined as managing director and head of investment grade capital markets, based in New York. Katherine Davisson, a manager of Goldman's New York-based European equities sales team, joined as managing director of East Coast prime brokerage sales. Both had been at Goldman for more than a decade.
Sales and trading: Sharma takes time out
Sutesh Sharma, global head of proprietary trading at Morgan Stanley, is taking a leave of absence after six months in the job. Until his return in March 2006 Andy Pipa will be responsible for North Americas trading and Mark Frydman and Lars Lemonius will co-head the European and Asian regions.
Wachovia Securities is shutting down its 15-strong emerging market fixed income sales and trading desk in New York to focus on its investment grade business.
Asset Management: Arden hires former COO at Deutsche Bank
Hedge fund of funds Arden Asset Management hired Natalie Birrell, a former managing director and COO at Deutsche Bank, as managing director.
Wachovia Corporate and Institutional Trust hired Dama Stephenson from State Street as managing director of sales.
Harvard University hired Peter Nadosky, a former president of Morgan Stanley Asset Management, as interim chief investment officer, replacing former CIO Jack Meyer who last January announced plans to start his own company.

ThinkEquity Partners, a research-focused investment bank, hired Paul Noglows from IRG Research as a partner and director of strategic development in the New York office.
Hyde Park Capital Partners, a private investment bank focused on Florida and the Southeastern United States, hired Walter L. Revell, chairman and chief executive of Revell Investments International, as a member of its advisory board.
Galen Capital Group, a healthcare-focused investment bank, hired John Brilbeck, president of the president of the Brilbeck Group, an art distribution business, as a senior advisor.
Wealth Management : Jefferies hires from Bear
Jefferies & Co. hired Charles C. Baber of Bear Stearns as a managing director and director of its private client services division.
Private equity: Carlyle adds to industrial team
The Carlyle Group appointed Daniel Pryor from Danaher, the medical equipment manufacturer, as a managing director in its industrial team, based in D.C.
John Kukral, president, chief executive and co-founder of Blackstone Real Estate Advisors, the property arm of The Blackstone Group, is leaving the firm at the end of the year. A spokesperson for Blackstone would not comment on Kukral's future plans.
