Job Description

The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling and coordinating all maintenance activities to ensure the efficient operations of equipment, machinery and facilities. The Maintenance Planner aims to improve maintenance productivity and reduce downtime by ensuring the right resources, tools and parts are available at the right time. The Maintenance Planner will also keep track of the spare parts inventory and storage to make sure it is maintained at an acceptable level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain preventative (PM) schedules for all equipment and systems by planning and prioritizing work orders based on safety, production needs and equipment criticality. Coordinate preventative maintenance with maintenance technicians, production supervisors, and other departments to minimize equipment and downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment history, maintenance logs and work orders using ORACLE CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System). Estimate labor, materials, and costs for maintenance work and ensure timely procurement of parts and supplies. Develop kits for PM;s and Work Orders, prestaging kits for execution.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, KPIs and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigation. Assist Maintenance Manager in budgeting for maintenance expenses and capital improvement projects.
  • Analyze equipment failures and maintenance data to identify trends and areas of improvement. Support the implementation of continuous improvement and reliability-centered maintenance strategies.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school diploma or GED.
  • Requires three (3) to five (5) years of experience operating and maintaining equipment in a manufacturing industrial setting.
  • Requires computer operations skills with strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficiency/familiarity in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System - Oracle).
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety [policies and procedures (i.e. log out tag out, etc.)
