A leading Investment Bank in NYC is seeking a Vice President to join a newly established Capital Risk Management team in New York. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and enhance the independent second-line oversight framework for capital management across a complex and growing bank.
The successful candidate will play a highly visible role in providing independent review and challenge of capital adequacy, regulatory capital ratios, capital planning, stress testing, and broader capital management activities. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Treasury, Finance, Risk, and the business while helping to shape the governance, processes, and risk standards of a growing function.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent second-line oversight of capital adequacy, capital ratios, and capital management strategies.
- Review and challenge key capital metrics, leverage ratios, risk-weighted assets, and regulatory buffers.
- Assess compliance with applicable U.S. regulatory capital requirements.
- Review and challenge capital stress testing methodologies, assumptions, and results.
- Evaluate the calibration and adequacy of internal capital limits and targets.
- Assess proposed capital actions and their potential impact on the organization's capital position.
- Support the continued development of the Capital Risk Management framework, including governance, documentation, reporting, escalation, and process automation.
Qualifications
- At least four years of experience within capital management, regulatory capital, capital planning, stress testing, Treasury, or a related risk function.
- Experience working in either a first-line or second-line capital management role within a large bank or similarly complex financial institution.
- Strong understanding of U.S. regulatory capital requirements and capital adequacy frameworks.
- Familiarity with CCAR, capital stress testing, RWA methodologies, leverage ratios, and internal capital limits.
- Understanding of how financial products and business activity affect capital ratios under baseline and stressed conditions.
