Swiss Re Kansas City, United States
Underwriting Coordinator, Facultative

We're looking for someone with reinsurance background who brings together technical expertise, process discipline, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with people. If you move easily between details and dialogue, processes and people, independent problem-solving and teamwork, we'd love to hear from you!

About the Role

This is a fantastic entry point for someone eager to build deep expertise in facultative reinsurance operations. In this role you will be an essential partner to our team of Facultative Underwriters supporting for all non-client facing activities, including but not limited to:

This role is ideal for someone who is equally comfortable diving into the details of a data set, identifying and resolving inconsistencies, organizing information in a clear and reliable way and picking up the phone to follow up with a colleague. You possess exceptional communication skills with strong customer focus and service orientation, especially when supporting underwriters and stakeholders. Comfortably working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, you can support underwriters across different locations and time zones.

Additional requirements include:

  • Proven experience in the (re)insurance industry, preferably in operational, underwriting support, or business services roles

  • Strong understanding of operational processes such as submissions handling, policy documentation and general reinsurance workflows

  • Experience identifying process gaps and contributing to operational improvements

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability for end-to-end task completion

Our company has a hybrid work model where the expectation is that you will be in the office at least three days per week. This position is
not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.
