Job Summary
The Sr. Product Manager for the Goals Powered Solutions (GPS) Platform is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Northern Trust's goals-driven wealth management platform. This role partners across business, product, engineering, UX, data, operations, risk, compliance, and security teams to deliver innovative planning and advisory capabilities that enhance advisor effectiveness, improve client outcomes, and support the continued evolution of Goals Driven Wealth Management. The role drives alignment across shared services, enterprise platforms, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable, and differentiated solutions.
Major Duties
Goals Powered Solutions (GPS) is Northern Trust's flagship goals driven wealth management platform, enabling advisors to deliver personalized planning experiences that align client goals, investment strategies, and financial outcomes. This role ensures the platform continues to evolve as a strategic differentiator by delivering innovative capabilities, modernizing platform architecture, strengthening enterprise integrations, and empowering advisors to provide more effective and scalable advice to clients.
Salary Range:
$114,500 - 194,700 USD
Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.

Job Summary
The Sr. Product Manager for the Goals Powered Solutions (GPS) Platform is responsible for defining and executing the strategy, roadmap, and delivery of Northern Trust's goals-driven wealth management platform. The role drives alignment across shared services, enterprise platforms, and business stakeholders to ensure scalable, reliable, and differentiated solutions.
Major Duties
- Lead roadmap planning and execution for the Goals Powered Solutions platform and its supporting capabilities.
- Partner with business stakeholders to define and prioritize capabilities that strengthen goals-based advice, financial planning, advisor workflows, and client engagement.
- Drive delivery across multiple agile teams and shared platform domains, ensuring alignment of priorities, dependencies, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, UX, data, and architecture teams to design and deliver scalable, modern solutions.
- Define product requirements, epics, features, and user stories to support Agile delivery and strategic business objectives.
- Establish and maintain platform governance, business capability ownership, and product standards to ensure consistency, quality, and operational excellence.
- Partner with enterprise teams to integrate shared data, services, and platforms that enable seamless advisor and client experiences.
- Leverage advisor feedback, client insights, analytics, and market trends to identify opportunities and inform investment decisions.
- Monitor platform health, adoption, performance, and business outcomes through KPIs and operational metrics, driving continuous improvement.
- Lead cross-functional initiatives, organizational change efforts, and go-to-market activities related to new platform capabilities and enhancements.
- Support strategic planning, investment funding requests, and executive communications related to the platform roadmap and vision.
- Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for goals-driven wealth management across the organization.
- Deep knowledge of product management principles, roadmap development, product lifecycle management, and Agile delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of wealth management, financial planning, advisory workflows, and goals-based advice concepts.
- Experience working with enterprise platforms, cloud-native architectures, APIs, data integrations, and shared services ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy into scalable product capabilities and measurable outcomes.
- Expertise in defining business requirements, product backlogs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Experience leveraging analytics, business metrics, and user research to guide product decisions and prioritization.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of risk, compliance, audit, privacy, and security requirements within regulated financial services environments.
- Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple teams, dependencies, and stakeholder groups.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar Agile planning and delivery tools.
- 7+ years of Product Management experience, preferably within financial services, wealth management, or digital platforms.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex platforms, shared capabilities, or enterprise product initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Advanced product management, Agile, or financial services certifications preferred.
