As a part or fully qualified accountant you will join to support the delivery and implementation of the group's strategic transactions. This role requires a good awareness of the accounting standards, and of the systems architecture and range of finance functions across the Group. Experience in impairments, securitisations and regulatory reporting would be beneficial but not essential.

  • Reviewing complex accounting opinions and performing impact assessments for the Impairments, Regulatory Reporting and Group Finance Support teams

  • Supporting the GMS9 preparation and sign off for significant and complex transactions

  • Taking ownership of the control environment for the end-to-end transaction including documentation of the risks and controls

  • Developing personal capabilities using existing formal and informal training opportunities

  • Proactively identifying improvements to existing processes, systems and procedures, including the running of post implementation review meetings and driving continuous improvement initiatives

Why join us?

We're on an exciting journey to transform our Group and the way we're shaping finance for good. We're focusing on the future, investing in our technologies, workplaces, and colleagues to make our Group a great place for everyone.

What we're looking for

  • A part or fully qualified Accountant.

  • Regulatory and capital reporting experience

  • Fantastic stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain a cross functional network

  • Strong influencing and relationship-building skills.

  • A proactive self-starter who takes ownership and delivers results.

  • Good understanding of the Groups systems and processes.

  • Experience of working within a fast-paced environment.

About working for us

Our ambition is to be the leading UK business for diversity, equity and inclusion supporting our customers, colleagues and communities, and we're committed to creating an environment in which everyone can thrive, learn and develop.

We offer reasonable workplace adjustments for colleagues with disabilities, including flexibility in office attendance, location and working patterns. And, as a Disability Confident Leader, we guarantee interviews for a fair and proportionate number of applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the role with a disability, long-term health or neurodivergent condition through the Disability Confident Scheme.

We provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to reduce or remove barriers. Just let us know what you need.

We also offer a wide-ranging benefits package, which includes:

  • A generous pension contribution of up to 15%

  • An annual bonus award, subject to Group performance

  • Share schemes including free shares

  • Benefits you can adapt to your lifestyle, such as discounted shopping

  • 28 days' holiday, with bank holidays on top
