Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.)

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Vice President with Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC in Salt Lake City, UT. Design, develop and improve the firm's proprietary automated electronic quoting and execution platforms for fixed income, currencies and commodities (FICC). Work closely with trading, sales, and other strategies teams to establish efficient data flows and design systems to satisfy the requirements of latency-sensitive, high-volume trading systems. Work closely with core infrastructure engineers to evaluate and adopt emerging technologies for improving performance and reliability. Create robust technology infrastructure to build efficient and scalable systems allowing continued growth in transaction volumes and trading frequencies. Implement, review, and test systems built for clients, trading, and sales. Participate and contribute in system design sessions. Produce maintainable, well-documented software to maintain the firm's production environment and minimize operational risk. Actively monitor real-time performance and diagnose issues with trading systems. Serve as a functional and technical liaison between trading, sales, technology, and operations when driving the software realization of new business initiatives. Recruit new graduates and lateral hires, and train and mentor new hires on best practices for software development and release management specific to front office trading.

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Computer/Electrical Engineering plus five (5) years of experience in the job offered or related position developing automated trading systems. Must have five (5) years of experience with: designing and developing large, robust distributed trading systems; developing high-performance, low-latency multi-threaded trading systems using objected-oriented programming languages such as C++ or Java on Windows or Unix; profiling and improving high-volume trading system execution performance and optimizing memory utilization; maintaining, manipulating, and analyzing large data sets with database query languages, programming languages, and time series analysis tools; and working in a front office trading environment interfacing with traders, compliance officers, and operations, as well as external clients and partners, to understand trading problems and regulatory requirements, partner in developing solutions, translate requirements to technical designs, and periodically present product updates. Must have three (3) years of experience with recruiting new graduates and lateral hires, and training and mentoring new hires on best practices for software development and release management specific to front office trading.
