Business Unit Overview
GS Bank USA is a NY state chartered bank accepting deposits, lending to individuals and corporate clients, transacting in derivatives, and investing in community development programs. GS Bank is a primarily 'virtual' bank, serving clients around the world with no retail locations. As part of the Finance Division, the GS Bank Management Team is comprised of teams such as Bank Controls & Infrastructure and Bank Finance & Treasury, and works closely with other divisions such as Compliance and CCBD to ensure the Bank is being properly monitored, regulated and controlled, while looking towards strategic ways to continue to grow the Bank.

Bank Controls & Infrastructure Team
Bank Controls & Infrastructure (BCI) is a high-value risk monitoring, reporting and infrastructure strategy team within the Finance Division. BCI is responsible for providing and maintaining an overall effective control environment in relation to various Bank and Federal regulations. The team performs critical regulatory monitoring and control functions, manages the Federal Reserve Discount Window and Federal Home Loan Bank pledge processes and is responsible for submitting quarterly reporting to the Fed. BCI works closely with the revenue divisions as well as the Federation to define the appropriate support models for strategic bank initiatives, and to define the strategies for identifying and developing commercial opportunities.

Your Impact
You will actively engage in new and exciting commercial and control initiatives within Finance relating to GS Bank. BCI is looking for professionals who will work with teams within the Finance Division as well as partner with the revenue divisions and the Federation to help ensure overall compliance to bank regulations, including but not limited to Reg W and Reg O, and also contribute to different strategic and commercial Bank initiatives.


  • Management of daily Reg W & Reg O monitoring
  • Exception management and resolution of GS Bank exposures/covered transactions
  • Complete mortgage pre-closing checklists to ensure documentation meets regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and submit loans to the Fed as part of the monthly Federal Reserve Discount Window pledge process
  • Prepare daily/monthly management reports leveraging dashboards for senior management including Bank Board and Bank Management Committee
  • Process analysis to improve control, scalability and efficiency for daily process management
  • Problem solving capability for complex transactions impacting Bank regulations
  • Prepare and submit files to the Fed as part of the quarterly FRY-8 Reporting
  • Provide project management leadership and support for new product development and Technology builds/enhancements
  • Monitor and understand the workflows, processes and regulations impacting Operations for Bank activity
  • Extensive ad hoc analysis for Bank transactions and impact on various Bank regulations (Reg W/23A)
  • Liaise with multiple groups across the firm including Bank Legal, Compliance, Technology, Controllers, Private Bank, Sec Div, IBD, IMD and various Federation & Operations teams
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven analytical skills, problem solving ability, and a control mentality paired with meticulous attention to detail
  • Aptitude for building relationships and ability to communicate complex issues to senior stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and proactive team-player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure in a team environment
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Background in financial services control-side 'line-roles', e.g. Compliance, Finance, Operations
  • Experience working with Securities and / or Derivative instruments, and the regulations governing them
  • Experience project managing technical process change programs
  • Experience with Excel and Tableau
