RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS Duties: Associate with Goldman Sachs Bank USA in Salt Lake City, UT. Function on a team that ensures the Firm has the appropriate infrastructure with respect to technology, processes, and controls to support complex financial transactions such that we meet our clients' needs as well as internal control standards and external regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include: Build and maintain a business relationship with the Firm's trading desks and ensure that their queries and requests are appropriately addressed. Prepare and review legal documentation of trade documentation with Trading, Legal and external counsel on a transactional or aggregate level. Partner with Trading and other Operations teams to provide commentary on legal language and insight for long-term support requirements. Ensure control measures (procedural and policy requirements, risk capture) are in place and applied to support existing and new structured transactions. Ensure confirmations accurately incorporate the appropriate industry standards and match risk capture (broker ticket data to ensure appropriate risk capture) on a transactional or aggregate level. Participate in enhancement projects with Technology and other Operations colleagues, with an aim to improving scalability and efficiency of the confirmation process. Design and initiate process improvements with thorough understanding of template architecture and system flows. Analyze and translate regulatory compliance requirements into functional requirements. Perform second check oversight of final approvals required for confirmation transmission or submit template enhancements for review/approval.
Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Mathematics, Operations, Research, Engineering, Statistics, or a related discipline. 2.5 years of experience in the job offered or related financial services position. Prior work experience must include 2.5 years: Experience with Over the Counter (OTC) transactions such as: options (vanilla & exotics), swaps, futures, cleared products; Experience in drafting and reviewing legal documentation; Leading and managing complex processes of post trade workflow and trade reconciliation to ensure satisfactory client coverage; Working with trading, risk & confirmation generation platforms and applying knowledge of the regulatory landscape governing derivatives products, specifically as it relates to OTC derivatives regulation such as Dodd-Frank, Margin Rules; Utilizing Word, Excel and PowerPoint with ability to analyze data and create reports; Designing testing documents, executing test scripts, and monitoring production environment roll outs; Experience with oversight and management of exceptions and understanding of reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and address breaks and discrepancies; Liaising with technology and multiple financial operations groups to enhance processes and procedures and implement regulatory or system changes; Identifying risks inherent in daily business processes and driving initiatives to design and document controls to mitigate risk while seeking Straight-Through-Processing (STP) workflows; Managing escalations and complex ad-hoc requests in a timely manner and handling sensitive information appropriately.
