Director, Loan Administration - Agency

Reports To

EMD, Servicing and Information Technology

Job purpose

Managing the activities of 3-6 servicing professionals engaged in most aspects of commercial loan servicing, the Director, Loan Administration-Agency, has responsibility for Barings Multifamily Capitals compliance with investor guidelines, servicing agreements, loan documents and service level agreements. He/she is responsible for working with the EMD, Servicing and Information Technology to optimize the use of technology, define and implement best practices, and train and develop associates.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Manage associates and their work on a day-to-day basis. Schedule workflow so that all tasks are accomplished and issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner, and in compliance with policies and procedures and relevant loan documents.
  • Cross train associates so they can work in multiple areas of loan servicing, both to improve the work experience and to eliminate key-man issues.
  • Make staffing decisions for team member positions.
  • Provide employee feedback on a real-time basis. Complete annual performance evaluations.
  • Work with the associates to maintain strict compliance with the companys policies and procedures, with an ongoing focus on improving existing processes and procedures as opportunities arise.
  • Work with associates to see that all training needs, both technical and interpersonal, are met in a timely manner.
  • Participate in the development of and ongoing compliance with Key Performance Indicators.
  • Lead and participate in servicing projects, as necessary.

    Qualifications

  • BBA in Finance, Real Estate or Accounting preferred, MBA a plus
  • 8 - 10 years of loan servicing experience, predominantly commercial real estate loan servicing for multiple capital sources/investors, particularly Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and HUD/FHA.
  • Expertise with Agency loans and the loan servicing processes specific to these Clients
  • Knowledge of all aspects of commercial mortgage servicing, preferably in a cross-functional team environment, including but not limited to: Loan closing and boarding, billing and collections, Taxes and Insurance/escrow analysis, Loan documents and document management, Letters of credit, reserves, UCCs, liens, Property insurance compliance, Maturing loans and loan payoffs,
  • Strong leadership, management and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communications skills
  • Accuracy oriented with a sense of urgency and strong focus on customer service
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of commercial real estate finance including an understanding of all types of loans, property types and real estate lenders
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a cross-functional team
  • Development of and management to Key Performance Indicators
  • MBA CCMS Level I and/or II certification a plus
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise! (or similar large scale servicing system)
  • Medium to advanced MS Office skills
