About the position In this collaborative role, you will work side by side with fellow Designers, partnering with the Product and Marketing teams to expand Chargifys presence in the SaaS billing market. Ideal candidates will be design thinkers who are passionate about clean, well executed product design. You should possess a growth mindset coupled with an intense desire to delight internal customers.  This role is based in our San Antonio offices, reporting to the Design Manager.

Chargify is a globally-recognized leader in the Recurring Billing and Subscription Management space. We are positioned uniquely to capitalize on a huge wave of traditional billers trying desperately to move into the subscription space. Think Keller Williams, Stack Overflow, Le Tote, Engine Yard, Mailgun, etc. Think of Chargify as the operating system for subscription/recurring revenue businesses.

Responsibilities
  • Clearly articulate design work and rationale to teams, peers, and executives for review and feedback
  • Maintain focus on our customers needs as you design how we solve their most important problems.
  • Take business requirements to actionable development plans using visuals, specs, user stories, etc.
  • Showcase simple design solutions for complex problems using UI models, conceptual diagrams, user stories, wireframes, storyboards, visual mockups, and simple prototypes that can be easily handed off for development.
  • Clearly articulate design work and rationale to teams, peers, and executives for review and feedback
  • Apply and manage the design process appropriately in all of your tracks of work.
  • Conduct research on how we can improve our user experience across our application and marketing site.
  • Design and build responsive pages on our marketing site using a static site generator (middleman) by writing HTML & CSS from scratch.
  • Respond to general design requests from our marketing and sales teams

Required skills and experience
  • Ability to write production ready advanced HTML and CSS with working knowledge of JS, jQuery..
  • Experience with using SCSS or any other CSS preprocessor.
  • Experience with React and styling React components. 
  • Experience using git or other version control tools.
  • Bachelor's degree in design or related field
  • 1+ years of experience as a product designer or similar role
  • Experience with using visual tools such as Sketch, Adobe CC, Balsamiq, Invision
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • An online portfolio or samples of work that demonstrate your design thinking, process, and user-centered design solutions
