RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS The Goldman Sachs Legal Department in Irving, TX has an opening in the Realty Management Division (RMD) Closing Team for an Associate/Vice President Closer having at least 5 years of experience in closing real estate related transactions. RMD is focused on a wide range of real estate activities and transactions, including acquisition, disposition, financing (both lending and borrowing), construction, development and asset management. Asset classes include office, retail, multifamily, hospitality and industrial. The Closer position will provide support for many facets of the closing process related to these types of transactions, as well as general transaction project management. Excellent organizational, project management and customer service skills are required. The candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be proficient in Word and Excel, and enjoy working in a team environment.
Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor the due diligence process from term sheet/contract execution to closing
  2. Order and review title commitments/updates, surveys and zoning reports
  3. Order appraisals and ensure compliance with appraisal policies
  4. Work with outside counsel on document preparation
  5. Work with internal business teams to ensure transaction process follows compliance guidelines
  6. Manage document execution and delivery
  7. Preparation of closing statements, including income and expense proration schedules
  8. Liaise with the title company to prepare closing statements
  9. Prepare sources and uses of funds
  10. Monitor cash flow
